Of course, it's only Sebaitous when it involves your own thread. I working to get that into Websters, sometime soon.

The difference between all your threads and my 90's thread, is that I at least posted 500+cd's.

That all depends on what you've heard. They don't have that many full length albums.

Icky Mettle, Vee Vee, All the Nations Airports, and White Trash Heroes.

I have always enjoyed unique vocalists and that’s one of their strong points. They were diffidently influenced by Sonic Youth, but I think they have a little more rock energy that turned into pop energy later in their career. Vee Vee and White Trash Heroes have different motivations, but still have the Sonic Youth discord.

If you like thrashier stuff start early, but if you prefer slower discord try White Trash Heroes. Allmusic has a good write up on them and a good variety of music clips.

Several I can think of but one I thought deserved mention that probably wouldn't have is Todd Rundgren's "Healing" (or is it "Healer") album...

Sgt. Pepper for cover design and "serious" approach... Few albums before Pepper sounded like Pepper... And while it may not be the greatest album, it really was influential for its "experimental" perception (as far as mainstream rock goes)... As as far as production it really was beyond what what happemning in rock up until that point...

Revolver for the fact that "Tomorrow Never Knows" was on it...

Now, there are tons of weird psychedelic albums that I know of that would be considered experimental, but I will have to think of some that truly stuck out as a full length groundbreaking experimental work...

There are several songs I can think of (like "Eight Miles High" by The Byrds), but the album it first appeared on was not fully experimental...

3. Mothers of Invention - Uncle Meat
4. Can - Tago Mago
5. Faust - The Faust Tapes
6. Velvet Underground - White Light / White Heat
7. Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon
8. Funkadelic - Maggot Brain
9. Tom Waits - Swordfishtrombones
10. Miles Davis - Dark Magus
11. Jimi Hendrix - Electric Ladyland
12. Brian Eno + David Byrne - My Life in the Bush of Ghosts
13. Soft Machine - Third
14. Amon Duul II - Yeti
15. King Crimson - Larks' Tongues in Aspic
16. Gong - You
17. Pere Ubu - The Modern Dance
18. Wire - Chairs Missing
19. Beta Band - The Three EPs
20. Brainticket - Cottonwoodhill
21. Neu! - Neu!
22. The Soft Boys - Underwater Moonlight
23. Spiritualized - Lazer Guided Melodies
24. Van Der Graaf Generator - Pawn Hearts

Yup, I'm serious about that last one...

Some of these may be a bit 'predictable', but I reckon every one of these is experimental pretty much all the way through. They're also all top notch!

I'll try to come up with some not mentioned so far. Lots of good titles on that list.

SPACEMEN 3 - Playing With Fire (if you like building drones with some intense guitar playing and a fair share of lights and darks.)

ROYAL TRUX - Twin Infinitives (Personally I like their later stuff with more of the straight-up Stones vibe, but this one is a skronky keeper in it's own right)
GENTLE GIANT - Free Hand (most people wouldn't pick this one first, but after spinning most of their output multiple times, this always seems to be the one I reach for, probably because of "On Reflection")

THE FLYING LUTTENBACHERS - Constructive deconstruction (Even I have trouble sitting through this one sometimes if I'm not in the mood for crazy jazz / metal bits and pieces crashing into each other. I like this one because it's a little punkier and more human-sounding than the later ones. The pioneers of 'hard prog' perhaps?))

FLYING SAUCER ATTACK - New Lands (If you took the first SUICIDE album, removed the vocals, and sampled random bits of the emergency broadcast system, while incorporating one track of an air conditioner running into the mix, it may sound something like this. But oddly, I do listen to it from time to time. )

MY BLOODY VALENTINE - Loveless (did anybody else mention this? Buy it before any of the others, I say. After a million listens, it still surprises, offends, and scares me. Has there ever been a more perfect balance of cooing pop and wrecking ball noise? Not to me.)

KEIJI HAINO - Execration that Accept to Acknowledge (Man, I love this one! He sounds like he's going to tear the fucking guitar apart. Live album (like that even matters!) from Japan, may sound like noise on top of noise for the first half dozen listens, but it does reveal it's beauty eventually. CLLLLLUUUUUNNNNGE. He's got a bajillion records too, so grab 'em up if you like this sort of thing)

I'll try to think of more...

A group that has to included in the top 25 is Amm. Their 1966 recording AMMMusic was a precursor of avant-garde/experimental/improvisational music to follow. Amm was truly a pioneer in this style of music.
