Betcha Can't Play This (Guitar)
Essentially, this is a thread in which anyone can post licks or chord progressions. Everything that is posted here should be in the interest of improving one's expression on guitar. Anyone can post, but to assure that this thread stays active, I'll try to post one as often as possible. Don't expect more than three a week, though.
As most of you have probably guessed, I've gotten this idea from a Guitar World magazine. I won't be taking tablature from the issues themselves, though. I'll just relay some of the stuff I've learned and hope that you guys will do the same.
First, here's a Spanish sounding progression with a series of licks thrown in between. Warm up first, the bends in this might getcha. Each section segues into the next, so once you've got one down you can work on the next one and play them together. It ends on a monster slide that should bring you straight back to the start, because this little progression can go on indeterminately with as many variations in the licks as you'd like. I haven't included accents, so judge for yourself where they should be.
p= Pull Off
~= Vibrato
b= Bend
_= Mute
Trill = up one semi tone and down repeatedly

I posted it at a slow tempo. You take that and gradually increase it as you get used to it.

By the way, do you have a recording of it? I have no idea how to play guitar, but anything difficult-sounding gets my interest.

yeah an aural example would definitely help because i can't get that trill at the end to sound right. actually that whole double stop lick just doesn't seem to go well with the whole spanish / flamenco vibe.
