I would think that reason is superior to fruity in all aspects, particularly with the new features of v.3.0, and the possibility of sidechaining to cubase.

FL is just a toy compared to Reason. Try Reason, Cubase, or Orion.

My opinion .. as a person who worked in the past whit .. let's say mixing toys i can say at this moment that the best tool for creating music of any kind .. it is Cubse SX by Steinberg .. if you have the chance to get the 2008 edition with the applet for trance/instrumental music .. go 4 it .. as for to buy his price it is .. around .. 300$ - 1000 $ ..
