Richard Devine...

What are your thoughts on this artist? I got Lipswitch EP, Aleamapper and the Richard Coleman Devine 12"...they are all magnificent pieces I believe...

Richard Coleman Devine 12" basically shows his skill with hip-hop style beats on top of his audio digital processing programming, and then Lipswitch more or less goes in the same pattern, and then Aleamapper, my fav, goes away from the heavy hitting sound, goes more to an ambient/space adventure in my eyes...

just curious!

I have heard the name many many times and also found out that he is a computer student in somewhere. I remember reading an interview with him in Native Instrument's web site. he said something about having 2 computers running at the same time and he has over 1000 samples on a hard drive or something. however, I haven't yet heard his songs. I have heard people bashing his sh!t on another site. any songs that are dark, menacing and depressing you have in mind that I may like?

bashing his shit? well, they just don't have any kind of tastes , um...try Kepler, Float182, anything off Aleamapper...and he's trained in classical piano, maybe that's why people bash him hehe

who knows? some people have hatred for everything. plus, the site where I read the bashing, some people in that forum were so called "music elitists"(is that the term?). arrogant bastards if you will.

I will check him out soon.

not repetitive, but it may appear that way to many people because of the sounds he creates
