Well, I could see some of that comeing out anyway, simply because that 80's material was very popular. Most of us here, when we think of Genesis, we think of the early stuff and discount the later stuff. But I could see them doing at least some of it, and I would expect Phil to sing anything they do from his heyday on the mic. I would say that's fair enough, as long as it was kept to a minimum
If they do, regardless of how good or bad they might be, I'd not only get a ticket, but I would strongly consider flying my father out to come with me. I've been listening to the band since I was three years old (thanks to him, and his incessant playing of their albums ). I would at least try to take him...

Considering I saw them live with Gabriel, I would just like to say, this makes me feel so damn Ancient right now.

I'm not a huge Genesis w/out Peter Gabriel fan but I don't dislike the latter enough to not go and see them if given the opportunity. Should be curious to see how Phil and Peter manage the songs.

Nothing new. Just a lot of talking, so far. Keep in mind, this involves two major ego's being involved. As well as decisions on who sings or what is performed.

i don't see any reason for genesis to reunite, i am a huge fan of albums like "the lamb...", and "selling england.." and also of some post peter gabriel material, but i don't think they could actually make music together anymore.

The reason for any band whose last great album was released before many people here were born is strictly financial.

Anytime a big time group regroups it's all about the Benjamins. Especially when the members are floundering out on their own and haven't done anything in decades, to bring in more Benjamins.

i think phill collins and peter gabriel make more money alone then they will do as genesis, maybe banks and rutherford need some cash which could make sense for a genesis reunion.

What exactly have Gabriel or Collins done in the last 10-15 years, to bring in any real money or keep them in the limelight, for that matter?
A Genesis reunion would get the group $50-$150 million. That's before you add in the live cd, DVD, and merchandising, which will be involved.
They only reason they're considering this is because of the money and it gets them back in the public spotlight.
