Seriously, for a nano second. Has Satchmo ever let any of the Grasshoppas or for that matter, anyone on RM who wanted some real knowledge dropped on them, down?

Satchmo just has a rule about making a Best of Year release 2 months before the end of the year is over. Lists are not made until the year is over. You never know what might sneak out at the end.

Since the Grasshoppa brought this up in another thread, remember Aesop's story.

I now return you to your normally scheduled program.

Has anyone listened to this reissue of Song X, by Metheny and Coleman? I've always heard mixed things about Metheny, but Coleman is Coleman, and I like the title.

That unlike the one mentioned in this thread is classic. I am not even going to get into what I think of this latest one.

Actually, I know. With all the Satchmo's who were/are Veterns since the Civil War, it's hard to forget. A great many Satchmo's are buried far away from their homes, in a lot of different countries.

I was just testing the young Grasshoppa if he actually knew why he was getting school off. I asked one kid a couple days ago, and he had no idea why. Keep in mind, he was actually 1-year older than the Grasshoppa.

I did indeed know that today was Veteran's Day, for clarification you can look at my last post in the "What are you listening to?" thread. I didn't mention Veteran's Day specifically, but at least I know it's a holiday (and, once again, I did know which holiday it was). Although, had no one brought up Veteran's Day, you can assure yourself that I would've said I had broken out. No matter how many surveillance cameras my school installs, they can't keep track of jazzfromhell when he's in an escapin' mood.

Song X is a cool recording. Do you like free-jazz? Listen to this. Maybe not what Pat use to do!!

Pat Metheny is a great player!!!
