the best songs including a saxophone

the best songs including a saxophone

Im not talking about Jazz or Blues songs, no im talkning about modern music. By modern music i mean from the 80s and forward.

Saxophone solos are also ok.

Tell me your favorite song including saxophone!

Damn! I was gonna say that!

...Try Starless and Bible Black by King Crimson. I did a project on that one, if you'd like to see it. History of the Sax and musical analysis of the piece.

Most of Ziggy Stardust has one, too.

Bam! Starless, that's all you need. Some, and I stress some, Floyd sax stuff is good but from the 80's on? Hmmm...

Béla Feck and the Flecktones are always good... In fact, the saxophonist that toured with them lives in my neighbourhood and gives lessons. I didn't even know this until yesterday.

Phish did some interesting work with sax, too, but only briefly.

Another one to include would of course be the English Beat.

I and I would suggest a little Reel Big Fish, the older stuff, most notably their first album, 'Everything Sucks' there's alot of good sax playing on that. Also on their second album 'Turn The Radio Off' the song 'Snoop Dogg, Baby' has an awesome sax solo.

If the one wants to get a little more skacore (or skakacore if the one is a definition happy American) then a little Lightyear wouldn't go amiss. If the one can get hold of the Lightyear vs. Evil Macaroni split CD (a daunting task, I and I can assure the one. Better to download it illegally from the interweb) then 'Spotcheck' has a great sax solo, and most of the stuff on their more commercial available albums have good sax parts, courtesy of the mighty Ben Ashton. Just a suggestion.
