Stanton Warriors are playing here on boxing day and on the 6th Krafty Kuts is coming wiht MC Dynamite, who has done lots of work with Roni Size and really does kick butt. Krafty was comming with TC Izlam but he apparantly had trouble with US customs and so dynamite has taken his place which although I do dig Izlam will be even better.

just got back from seeing Luke Vibert...

man, that was so good. The support beforehand wasn't too bad either (we heard some Rossz Csillag Allat Született ).

He built his set up so well. Finished off with his take of Squarepusher's "My Red Hot Car" which was awesome (who said you can't dance to IDM? hehe) then gave us a quirky encore, I don't think I've ever heard acid at such a high tempo...

I am a happy little camper.

I saw Alva Noto & Ryuichi Sakaoto's insen show today. I was blown away. Listening to their music on my headphones isn't going to give me anything near the experience of seeing them live.

Also, I was planning to bootleg the show but didn't get myself orgaised (it's been a busy week!) but a friend who caught the Thursday night show did. I'll be getting a copy from him soon and I'm happy to share it with anyone who's interested.

Funckarma are in Australia!

They're doing a Sydney show tonight, and so far as I know a Melbourne show is planned, but I haven't found a date yet...! that is, I hope I haven't missed it...

and regarding the Sakamoto and Alva Noto recording, I haven't gotten a copy of it myself yet, and I found out it was recorded to an iRiver at 128kbps, so it may not sound too good.

but... I did stumple upon this from '05:

from the Kranky label website:

'On Saturday the 26th of May loscil, aka Scott Morgan, and Brian McBride of Stars of the Lid, will be performing along with the Caleb Burhans String Quartet at the Good-Shepherd Faith Presbyterian Church at 152 West 66th Street in NYC as the final event in the inaugural season of the Wordless Music Series. Scott and Brian will both be performing solo as well as in conjunction with the string quartet, who will also be performing Steve Reich's "Different Trains". Sorry to state the obvious, but if you are a fan of contemporary minimalist music and live within an hour or two of NYC then this is an event not to be missed and which promises to be a unique live music experience.'
