Red Snapper anyone???

I am a HUGE fan of the band, Red Snapper! ALL their stuff!
Was wondering if anyone here on this board is into them at all?

And beyond that...has anyone caught this band live by any chance?
I'd love to hear about it.

more questions (all on the live organica tripped techno side of things):
1) anyone know what the the bassist and drummer of soul coughing are
doing now? heard the drummer's not in the states, and bassist (in my
radar at least) is MIA, but i'm probably wrong. I know they had a trio
going for a bit at Tonic in brooklynn doing live jungle, but that's been
done for a while, and no info or recordings of any sort.

2) anyone into Jaga Jazzist from scandinavia? I think their live show would
be freaking fantastic!!! you cats dig?

adios

There's plenty of Jaga Jazzist fans around here -- I'm also a fan of Red Snapper to a point; interesting Electro Hip-Hop if I remember. It's been awhile, so I can't really say anything too involved about them, but if I can find some of their records lying around I'll try to get back to you with more...

I'm more into Jaga Jazzist's solo projects rather than the group though. Lars Horntveth's 'Pooka' is fucking amazing.

read in the wire (UK) that they have a new one out, came with a favorable review.

also, check out his brother Martin Horntveth. He's got an ep called 'Skull' and it's more IDM'ish.

Also, the horn section did an album with The Ex on the 'in the fishtank' series.

I've heard Making Bones and I really liked "The Sleepless" and "4 Dead Monks", but the rest of the album wasn't of the same high standard, I've been told to check the first album out though...

oh and I just got the first Jaga Jazzist album and I think it's already my favourite, I should probably look out for Pooka too...

by the way, I believe that their horn section did also do a In the Fishtank cd with Motorpsycho.

i really enjoy the What We Must album for its progressions. the are uplifting but still seperate from being to poppy.

I love all their albums, although The Stix is maybe a bit too dense in it's free jazzness, and I think most of their songs have that uplifting quality...

I just listened to it, it's amazing indeed... It's far less electronic though, I'd have thought you'd like it less for that...
