Perhaps I worded what I said wrongly at first, but what about the propaganda against the Americans, Israel etc.? Isn't trying to brainwash people a form of repression? And if he is a huge figure of the Taliban regime, does that not suggest he has had a large part in the success (for lack of better word) of it? Consider that the Taliban believe that they gain more from bin Laden’s presence and assistance than they lose from remaining an international pariah. Today it is believed that he lives in Kandahar in southern Afghanistan, under the protection by the Taliban regime of Kabul. This speaks volumes to me. I don't see how a mere associate would get this kind of treatment, considering the obvious repercussions of protecting this 'man'
Adolph Hitler never killed any Jews etc. but endorsed them to do so. Like Bin Ladens support of the Taliban regime - he was long an influential figure in Afghanistan before 9/11.

Who needs propaganda against Israel or America, the facts are good enough! Israel has been warned repeatedly against their actions concerning palestinian groups, they STILL do it (and America veto's any UN resolutions to protect them).

Life under the taliban was very similar to other Arab countries (Soudi Arabia, Iran). The irony is that concerning culture Iraq is a bit freer. Pollitical opposition is repressed in many, many places (chetchen nationality (sp), western governmental ideas in china).
