my bad  i totally meant airplane but i was in a rush last night hehehe and i was going more towards the initial claim that joplin was an innovator of fem rock and not the pinnacle of the blues.

not really, but she isn't exactly blues right?
we could discuss about what her contribution was to rock. For me she was one of the greatests white female singers from the 60's. And she had a very bluesy raspy voice. I really love that. I know one of her role models was Bessie smith, and maybe what she sang was bluesrock.
