Semi-job...I get paid to sub in for parents who don't want to do their required volunteer work at swim meets. Not as interesting as working at Amoeba (last I heard, they don't hire under 18, and only for full time), but pays pretty well, considering if I get the good job all I have to do is push a button at the end of every race.

How is it that it's "required volunteer work" but it was possible to pay a minor to do it for them?

Nevermind, misused "volunteer". Basically, each parent who has a kid on the swim team is required to do a certain amount of work at swim meets. Since this work is incredibly monotonous and requires no training whatsoever, most of them hire kids to do the work for them.
