Looking for Suggestions: Gridlock

I’ve noticed a lot of talk about Gridlock on this board.

I had an album by them, but it was years ago. It was called The Synthetic Form. It wasn’t a bad album, but sounded a little too much like Skinny Puppy for my tastes.

From what I’ve been reading, I’m guessing that their sound has matured and that I should probably give them another chance. Any suggestions as to where I should start?

I'd actually start with Further and then move on to Trace. On 'Further', you still hear vocals from time to time, but you can definitely tell they are shifting towards a different sound, and with 'Trace' the vocals are gone and is the pinnacle of that change. Their last album 'Formless' was an extension of 'Trace' and even more abstract.

Formless is insane. In the membrane. It's pretty damn good, too.

Yeah, the first album was really Skinny Puppy but they did a proper 180 on Further, Trace continued the sound on and then Formless is a true work of genius.

Well, they all are but Formless is my favourite.
