Hefty records...
what are your thoughts on this record label? I think John Hughes III is doing a magnificent job in his releases...

well, there's a mix of things...
telefon tel aviv, you already know about, and then you got "between autumn sky" for which I would compare to DJ Shadow perhaps, and then the reissues of the underrated jazz great Phil Ranelin's "The Time is Now" and "The Vibe Tribe"...
this label consists of jazz fusion, post rock, hip hop, and electronic sounds...great job!

Kranky, yup, they are in chicago too. but I have only heard of some of the artists on that label, like, labraford, god speed you black emperor, mark spybey... I don't know them enough though.

I should check out Jame Plotkin because he was with Scorn a while ago.
labraford and keith fullerton whitman(hrvatski) are okay. I like that pink floyd track remade by hrvatski, that's about all I like from him so far.

yeah, i'm not too satisfied with "his actual name" output, but I'm quite impressed with everything he's put out under his other aliases, such as Hrvatski, and DJ Hekla
