look, dont judge from the outside here. you have to consider the feelings of many of america's blacks. the responce to katrina has been so pitifully poor that it has confirmed many black folks' fears that they are STILL second class citizens. dont forget that the days of institutionalized racism are not that far in the past. there is still a genuine mistrust of the system among blacks in america and when the government has the chance to save them and prove that race is no longer an issue, what do they do? the commit a monumental fuck-up. the attitude among blacks is this: we cannot expect the government to help us out at all. and frankly, given that the responce was so fuckin poor, you can hardly blame america's blacks. i personally believe that the economic situations of many of the victims was the biggest factor in their current state but when you see how quickly the US moved to aid tsunami victims and compare it with how horrible the responce to katrina has been, something's definitely wrong. again i say it, if we were talking about new hampshire, things would be much different.

It was a giant screw up
I believe kanye was wrong to further fuel it as a race based topic, however I also believe the TV was wrong from cutting away from him, while he was speaking. Free speech is still an amendment, and to not allow him that opportunity, was a poor decision by the money hungry executives. They feared a loss of viewers and so that was wrong. I also believe that the response being horrible was not based on location. Any other city or area would have in my view received the same response. I do blame the govt. for reacting untimely and without much urgency. I do not blame the military as some did. They are only a division of the government and can not operate without orders. I do blame angry individuals for slowing the rescue procedures once they did commence, by ignorantly firing weapons at the people trying to help. I do not blame those same people for being angry. I blame the government for diverting to many funds into the Iraq war effort. i do not however feel the Iraq war was wrong. The removal of sadaam was in fact a good thing. I feel that we need to start limiting our involvement in the rebuilding process however, and focus those funds back home here. Overall, every topic is a double edged sword, but it all leads back to Bush not being the man for the job of President. I believe this country will shape up when the new president is elected, but until then we can only be allowed to speak our mind, no matter how ignorant it may sound. Kanye props and disgust go out to.

first of all..."anti-racism"(or whatever you wanna call it) is still racism.
doing a concert to only benefit black people is racist. "racism" is discrimination or prejudice based on race. i'm not white, i'm not black, i'm latino...mexican to be exact. and if one of my "people" screams out BROWN PRIDE...that's fucking racist. it's like saying WHITE POWER.
BUT, when they say BROWN PRIDE, they're not celebrating the fact that they lynch black people, theyre just proud of the culture. so i can understand why theyre saying it, but it's still racist.
NOW, to say what i wanted to say...kanye pisses me off so fucking much. he's a good rapper and a above average producer, but he is so big-headed. it's not like there isnt others that cant do what he does, they just haven't been discovered yet. and this bitch says one thing on t.v., and you people give him as much cred as possible. i'm not saying that didn't take balls, but other people like immortal technique, quinto sol, akir, and dead prez(jus to name a few) have been saying that type of shit they're whole career and get no fucking shine!!! fuck what people think of kanye. deep down, he ain't shit and he knows it! good producer, though
