One of my friends is a lead singer in a metal group and when he played last year he got really pissed off because they wouldn't let his girlfriend in to the venue. Anyway, he got a blood nose for no reason so he just let it flow and strated to sing! It was pretty full-on!

I don't like the long straggly hair look, even if some of my favourite musicians have the hair do.

u know, long hair has been a big trend in hongkong for guys since few years ago. some guys look okay with long hair, but some guys just look BAD. I mean, long hair needs more time and energy to take care of. and those guys certainly don't know how to take care of their long hair. oh bad bad look.

god damn, just shave it off!

But then he wouldn't look metal!

A lot of metal bands have short hair now though but long hair will always be the metal look!

To look like a metal head... hrm. Well I think the hair is a big part of it because most of the *real* metalheads I see were the ones that are still floating around from like the 70s and 80s. I think that look makes it concrete, black clothes don't really make you look like a metal head, but most of the band shirts back then were black so I guess you could say it does. To me I think of long hair, blue jeans, and some-kind of a band shirt... like iron maiden or metallica or megadeth or something like that. But it really is if you SOUND like a metal head, like someone previously mentioned the CD collection.

I think it's way more important to just know what the **** your'e talkin' about when it comes to metal. I may not look metal, but when I go to my neighborhood metal store, I know what I'm talkin' about, and they know I've got money to spend. Looks aren't always that important. I'm goin' to a Relapse Records Contamination Tour in a few weeks, and I don't plan on "looking more metal" for the show.

When I was a bit younger I was really into new wave, and I used to go to new wave parties all the time. Everybody was dressed in black except for my, but I didn't care about it. Actually, nobody cared, it was just me. That's why I always say, dress as you want to dress. Even if it is metal.
