Herbie Hancock - Possibilities??!?!?!!???
I'm about to vomit. My fiancee had the TV on, and I heard a commercial blurt out Herbie Hancock, so I turned to see what it was. To my horror, it turns out to be a draw-in for pop fans w/ tons of "star" guest performances, including John Mayer, Christina Agulara, Jonny Lang and Sting for god's sake...
...all I have to say, is WTF...is he really that strapped for cash?
And of course, with such celebrety onboard, it certainly deserves a TV ad above and beyond any other great music releases as of late.
Sorry, just had to vent my horror.

You just heard about this? I keep telling you, that you and your fiancée need to actually leave the Apt., once a month for something beside school/work/shopping for vegetable.
Herbie isn't hurting for money, like the vast majority of Jazz musicians. Herbie sold out a long time ago. It's only recently, that he has gone back to playing Jazz.

You jest, but it's sad and true. The highlight of our social life is chatting with the local cashiers and watching the Gerbil run around. Oh well, we've both got 3 weeks off, so maybe we'll be bold and actually see a film or something.

I suppose I'd need to have heard Future To Future to understand. My Hancock is pretty much limited to the '60s and '70s, so to me, this is still a shock. And yes, I just now heard about it. Literally, a few minutes before I posted this thread. I was so horrified I jumped right on here.

A lot of distrubing things in this. Gerbil? I don't even want to know. Jesting? I was actually serious.*

You're first thoughts were go get online and post on RM? Did I ever mention something about getting out at least once a month and in daylight? The big yellowish looking thing that gives off a lot of heat, and is one big fusion reactor, that's the Sun.
* Ok, I was jesting, but damn, get out already! YO!
P.S. I don't mean going out the few steps, to get your daily mail, either.

Good god I hate that thing, especially right now -- so bright and hot. I prefer a nice overcast day in the mid-40s myself, if I'm going out.

You know, it's just as well that this thread be filled with bs -- it's not like there's anyone going to be listening to it here (( I assume )).

Okay, I saw it on his site. It's not a shock at all. I guess if I hadn't known about his doings from the late 1980's on, it probably WOULD be a shocker
The funny thing is that I had the Prisoner going when I caught this thread ("Firewater" was playing). Talk about complete turnabouts
