that scott herren, what a card.
I was fortunate enough to catch the Prefuse show in chicago just about two weeks ago. Mmm, mmm... tasty chunk. Sick like SARS and 40 mars bars. I wasn't even that sold on the vocal narratives album, but based on the show I saw, I think those tracks aren't sequenced in stone, but rather takes that made the cut. From my (disad)vantage point, I couldn't see what he was using, but one thing had lots of knobs, and the other he was banging on like drum pads or that new coo kaoss pad two. At any rate, it put my loins in attention. He's doing a whole tour come may, doncha know there bobby doncha know.

Thanks for bringing me onto this name. "One Word Estinguisher" is fresh and a quality release. Electro for the head and funky hip hop to dig, great fuze! I have a feeling that IDM-Rap is going to be a strong new genre within some years.
Thanks!
Haakon

well Haakon, its been around for a few years already with the Def Jux label...I wouldn't really call them IDM, but people have been rapping over electronic music for years...with El-P, Mr. Lif, Anticon, and and the now defunct Anti-Pop Consortium have been major contributors to this hip-hop/rap style of electronic music
now I didn't say the above were IDM by any standards...Prefuse and MachineDrum are my faves when it comes to cutup vocals and melodious hip-hop
