but i never mentionned madonna as someone who wasn't acting her age... yeah she does still try to appeal to a younger crowd but her music has matured over the last 20 years... cher on the other hand is still trying to be a pop queen with her crap techno singles looking like some sort of weird bordello madam... it's not a matter of being flamboyant... but if they are truly creativ then they will be seen as such... most pop stars are not...

and the stones ARE just WAY too frikkin old... but then you have bowie who's been around forever and who's still relevant...

it's like i mentionned earlier the ones with talent will still be seen as relevant and the others will just milk what they had... honestly what have the stones released in the last 15-20 years... new albums with the same stuff over and over again....

By being flamboyant? By being creative? By knowing how to still have fun? Or simply because they are continuing doing what they have always loved? It is no crime for anyone to do these things. Sure, it would be pathetic to do this if they were trying to be something that they are not, but it seems as if that is how they have always been. It is part of who they are.

Like I said before, I don't have a problem with people being old and creating music but when they try to act like a teenager and copy young artists in what they look like and say, it just makes me think that they are idiots. In fact, anyone who tries to look like they are in their early 20's and in fact look like they are 40 annoy me. Image isn't everything but I guess in the pop scene this mightent be the case.

I think Madonna's music is getting worse over the years and that she is trying to copy the younger generation to try and get/keep her audience interested by the way she looks/acts.

If anything, I think she sometimes dresses (in a STEREOTYPICAL SENSE) like a much older person. I am of course, refering to the flat caps etc. Anyways, how are you MEANT to look and speak when you get to middle age? Ive got pink hair and no eyebrows and people say I shouldn't do that. I have a lot of interests that many people my own age don't have and I talk in a way (politely and elquontly) that isn't supposedly typical amongst people of my background (ie. the working classes). So does that mean that Im being something Im not? Because I do not act in a way that is more commonly attributed to my background/classe/age group etc.?

I don't think Madonna is at the stage of being a tool but she is getting close. Give her a few years and if she is still acting like this it's going to show.

Just out of interest, why do you keep turning the subject onto yourself and bringing up points that weren't even being discussed?

Flat caps have become a symbol of wealth and cool-ness. Funny as they originate in northern england.
