Well, that's more 80's metal style...I think anyway...the new type of metal has a tougher image so they stick to black strats or explorers and whatnot...although the explorere is in the same 'world' as the BC Rich designs I think...

I would go with a Dean. They are used more in hard rock, but it works just as well in metal. Though, I would say it depends on what kind of sound you are going for like distortion or high pitch solos. If distortion, I would go with an ESP.
