Solid.

Since it has been bumped, I would like to add another suggestion: Martin Scorsese Presents The Blues Box Set. It is a wonderful compilation of five discs that follows the transition of the Blues. From hollers, to Jubilees, to Delta, to Jump, to Chicago, to blues-rock, and whatever else falls in between. A great collection. Discs 1, 2, and 3 are fantastic, with disc 4 containing a many solid contributions, and disc 5 lacking - as the Blues itself was during most of the era that disc 5 covers.
Highly recommended as a starter for those interested in the Blues.

Looking over the big list for the first time in a while, I have a question...when it says "OR", is that like "These are some great Howlin' Wolf recordings, but so are these, you'd have a good amount of great Howlin' Wolf tunes if you bought either", or does it mean that they have the same recordings?

Keep in mind, a lot of these were not released as part of a record....but as singles on 78's and 45's. So when they were compiled together to put out on lps, the lp was given a title....if another label put out the same material....it usually got a different title. This is especially true if it's a non-U.S. label, since copyright laws are different in the U.S. and Europe.

A great deal of that list is made up of cds released by European labels.
