I'm using Ableton and the loops get tedius but you can always work around them. It's relatively easy to chop up loops and create something that is more of a musical line, especially with the midi. The Session and Arragement views more or less serve this purpose: session being more loop-based (and for live senarios) and arrangement being... uh, not so loop-based

But then the only other programs I've used are Reason and Fruity loops, and very little of each.
