How Soon Is Now

Never really understood what it was about until I read ChrisArclark' reply above, I've always just liked the sound of the song.

Maybe listen to it more carefully next time...

Either There is a Light That Will Never Go Out or How Soon is Now, depending on how I feel.

Generally, it's probably the former, mostly because I love the chorus.

I will be honest, I am not a fan of The Smiths.

I could be wrong, and it wouldn't be the first or last time. Reading the lyrics, I would say it's about someone (Hetrosexual/Homosexual) going to a club looking for love/to be loved, as apposed to sex and not finding it.

"The Headmasters Ritual". its funny, cause the lyrics would have totally spoken to me back when i was in secondary school, but i didn't discover The Smiths until afterwards. i was ignorant back then & had i actually heard the song, i would've probably thought a bunch of nasty, snide little epithets about Morrissey. its such a beautiful piece to me now, i find it nostalgic. one of many gems by the group.
