You want soothing check out what Bach wrote that became known as the Goldberg Variations (Bach's title for it was Keyboard Practice).

Legend has it that it was written when Count Keyserlingk asked Bach to write something that Johann Gottlieb Goldberg (someone who was 14 or 15 at the time that the Count brought him to be a student of Bach) could play for him at night when he could not sleep.


It was given the name the Goldberg Variations, 61 years after it was written.
