Tell a newb how to get into electronica? This is like asking how to get into music with guitars. Too broad.

And FYI - regardless of what these guys tell you, Boards of Canada, Aphex Twin and Autechre are NOT good places to start.

Boards of Canada, Aphex Twin or Autechre can be perfect places to start, it just depends on what your previous listening habits are.

BoC are probably the most accessible electronic musicians i can think to recommend.

autechre and aphex twin might have some hard-to-digest stuff but BOC is very accesible.

orb...how come i forget good ol' orb...ORB is a great way to start.

I'll agree with the ORB, but I really think some vocal Chicago House or DnB like London Elektricity would be more accessable.

Of course, Autechre and vocal Chicago House couldn't be much more dissimilar, which illustrates my original point.

you won't fully dig the great London Elektricity if you don't have a r&b background.

Out of curiosity - what kind of background would you consider good for BoC, Autechre and Aphex Twin?
