i'm sorry Gelk, but funckarma and monolake need not be in the same sentence together . Honestly, the only 2 I see that possibly would fit would be Anders Ilar and Murcof (maybe)
just my opinion though.

Why not? (: Motivate.
It was really hard trying to find something that could be compared with Monolake, that's why I mentioned so many different names. Maybe I shouldn't have mentioned any at all, since I wasn't sure about it.
What do you think then? Give me a better example. (;

looks like a started a heated debate. when i first heard "polygon cities" i was impressed because i normally don't like "techno" but this seemed a little deeper than regular techno...much more refined, not so repetitive. i love how the synthasized woman's voice keeps the record together throughout. maybe this techno borders the IDM genre, but i know as soon as i heard it for the first time, i said "TECHNO" in my head.
so, i guess a more generic question would be: any "techno" that's pretty amazing stuff that i should check out? or has monolake taken it to the next level?
if anders ilar and murcof are this, i'm definately going to seek out some stuff for a listen, for i have not heard of these two and josh calls it like it is.
thanks guys. here's another one to argue over:
my old lady and i love marco passarani's "sullen look". we would really like __________. (i've been told that this is "italian house" if that helps anyone. i can maybe see the italian, but it's certainly not house beats. that would drive me insane.

i just bought "polygon cities" and this is the best monolake ever, in my opinion but i can't think of any similar artists right now.
gelks recommendation is nevertheless really great. if you are interested in electronic music than you must have heard murcof and funckarma or funckarmas cane project. i bet that you won't be dissapointed.

funckarma and monolake might have a similiar impact on the listener but they have little in common in therms of how their muisc is built.

i don't want to seem pretentious to anyone, although I do come off that way.
Passarani's 'Sullen Look' is very good, and could be classified as Italian House, but also as a term labeled Italian Disco. If you're looking for more of this, I'd recommend some of the earlier albums on Nature Records in Italy. You can check them out on discogs to get a general idea. Also another decent label would be Cocoon recordings.

i found Plaid to be similar to Kettel (except of course for his Volleyed Iron album on U-cover).
maybe listeners of Ten and Tracer/BOC (i guess BOC, but really BOC is much different than TandT..just more obscure) would enjoy Tycho.
Alva Noto -> Goem.
