Louis Armstrong's 106th Birthday
August 4th will be Louis Armstrong's 106th Birthday!
As with every year, WKCR will be having their 24hr Birthday tribute. Of recent, with Satchmo they have been doing this on July 4th, the day Satchmo thought he was born and August 4th, which is his real birthday, based on a recently discovered birth certificate.
Modern music would have been a whole lot different without one Louis Daniel Armstrong.
