I'm not sure.. I have honestly only heard it a couple of times.. I really liked the single off of it [bullet in the heather]... so I think I was expecting something similar... and.. I dunno.. the rest of that album couldn't have been more different in my opinion.. perhaps if they didn't have that as a single.. or put that single on a different album, I could have viewed that album as a whole, with a completely different light. I hope to revisit that album sometime.. perhaps if someone can guide me through the album, practically track by track, then.. I might be able to get past that first impression.. but for me.. I prefer the 80's sonic youth, with the exception of a thousand leaves...

well.. I honestly also didn't care at all for dirty.. it's over all one of my all time least favorite sonic youth cds.. that is, that I have and/or I have heard (I have not heard sonic nurse, or pretty much anything after a thousand leaves)... if experimental jet set sounded like sister, I probably would have loved it, considering it's on my top 5 sonic youth albums. I can understand why the mainstrem press would reject experimental jet set in this context. However, I still didn't like it, dispite it was a revisit to c. 87-88 sounds. the good thing I think came from this era of sonic youth was this was the era where griffin records finally lightened up on sonic youth as far as creative pressures, and gave them more artistic freedom.. this is according to some of the commentary on sonic youth's corporate ghost's dvd/ video collection. Thurston was discussing this. So perhaps that's what allowed the 'tone down' in the main stream sound.

I don't like Sonic Nurse , sounds very 'old' in a bad way.

I like Sonic Nurse a lot...

But the only other ones I am familiar with are:
Daydream Nation
Dirty
Slaapkamers Met Slagroom (probably my favorite of the three for it's lack of distraction with "songiness")

Dirty is my favorite. And "Dirty Boots" is the best song they ever wrote.
