Mike Jones - Who Is Mike Jones?

This is An Album Is you're into Down South / Chopped and screwed / Crunk Sorta Style Music. Especially if you get all of the chopped and screwed Versions along with the originals you'll no doubt be bobbin' your head up and down for a while. Very Catchy Songs throughout the album. He repeats himself quite a lot, but it fits in with the songs, Things like " who? Mike Jones! Who? Mike Jones! " And ' 281-330-8004 ' Also, All of the chopped versions have deeper voices....

Definetly worth a d/l - Shop Buy Or whatever you do

I remember back in the days of Kazaa (say 2 or 3 years ago?) I was downloading some music and I was searching for some Foxy Brown song or something. Anyways I download the song I want and play it on winamp, the beat comes on but then when Foxy Brown is supposed to come in this idiot does instead.

Bottom line is Mike Jones is a terrible rapper focused solely on money. He uses the retarded marketing scheme of repetition to try and drill his name into your head and I just find it annoying. His verses are void of any emotion and aren't good at all. I guess his beats are decent but I could never listen to this garbage.

Saying Mic jones is only focused on money, shows how little you know. MIke Jones has been in the underground for years. He has been rapping for years even though he has been making no money at it. He didnt even want to go commercial until he was presented with a huge deal. I agree the stuff he has out now, is garbage, however, if you think the artist picks what to say on there first album anymore you are funny.

THe content on albums now, at least first albums, are what the record lable says they are. You can't make it without selling albums, You wont be givin a deal for another album if you'res does not almost hit platinum. The majority of these songs, are made to sell his first album.

Now, when his next album comes out , you will see what I mean. A lot of rappers who rap about cash, hoes and money do it for the sales. You ever heard Lil Wayne really freestyle? He is insane. He is up there with Chino xl, Graf, all those guys. However the songs he drops are to sell his album.

Fact of the matter is, I don't care who you talk to, every rapper wants to blow, they all want to make Millions. So to do that you HAVE to do what the record company tells you for at least you're first album.

Just look how much Eminems stuff has changed since his first.

Traxtitan pretty much hit it on the head there. Look at how the industry has changed; many of the bands period aren't making music anymore, they're making noise that's marketable, especially rap. Thank god some artists are still into the message, like Common and Nas.

However, if Mike Jones IS only in it for the money, he sure knows what he's doing. Look Eminem; he makes controversial music because he knows people are going to listen to it. People in GLAD who would protest his music HAD to of heard his lyrics somehow, and I'm sure some of them had to buy the CD or at least pay to hear it in some fashion.

Mike Jones is doing the same thing. I'm a young suburban kid, but I don't know one of my friends who doesn't know "281-330-8004." People who constantly hear "Who? Mike Jones!" want to find out what the new sensation is.

As for the original post, I agree that most of the songs are very catchy and something that I can bob my head to when I'm driving around.

This is exactly why I don't buy any of this SHIT music anymore, because Traxtitan did hit it on the head, its processed crap from record companies.

I'm confused though, your saying their good MCs but they release crap records but you still go out and buy them anyways?

What a coincedence that this thread was bumped...Last night I downloaded this album, solely because of an inside joke I now have with Black Dog.

The album is terrible, but it's funny to hear him say "Who? Mike Jones" in so many of the songs on it...

O.K. first of all...if you really did listen to dyke jones when he was underground, you would know that most of his "who is mike jones" bullshit is old shit!! he hasn't come with anything new. i think mike used to be tolerable when he was underground...and i'll admit, i used to bump his shit(and paul wall, slim thug, magno, and a bunch of other shit) because of the simple fact that he was underground and was kind of coming wit it. but now, he's fucking wack!!! he ain't comin wit it no more!!! listen to all the old swisha house mixtapes and you'll hear him going hard...now he's coming as hard as hugh hefner's dick without viagra! also, saying he didn't want to go commercial is bullshit! going commercial means that you are in the mainstream. of course he wanted to go commercial! he just wanted to be the first INDIE on the cover of a magazine...that's what he said. but of course, he signed wit warner bros.

second...i got to agree wit what you said about the first album thing and sales. there's no doubt about that. but just wait for chamillionaires album. as non-biased as i can possibly be, chamillionaire's album is going to be way better than dyke jones album and it aint gon be no bullshit lyrics that dyke jones is so famous for. he aint a slave to universal, universal wanted him and he told them how it's gon be! no i'm not from houston, but i've been following the artists in houston since devin's second album!

i also got this to say: most of these rappers from the south were rapping about money and all that shit before the majors ran in and tore the whole place apart. it's not like once they got their deal, they switched they're style to bitches, hoes, and dough. they started off rapping bout that shit! if you don't believe me, listen to all the old shit of any artist from houston or the south...with the exception of some like z-ro, ugk, devin, etc.(but even they have some raps about that shit)

and i will admit that chamillionaire started out rapping bout that shit...but he always came wit it with the punchlines and the metaphors. he always showed lyricsm and that's what stood out to me and that's what i hope stands out to you people. i haven't heard his album yet(which comes out OCTOBER 25th) but i come to expect the same old cham. sorry for the long post, but i'm real passionate bout this shit. WHO? DYKE JONES!!! CHAMILLITARY, MAYNE!! look out for chamillionaire, please. i said so!! also, look out for rasaq, 5050 twin, yung ro, magnificent, lil' boosie, and many many more thoed people from houston.

southern california representin for chamillionaire! OCTOBER 25th: THE SOUND OF REVENGE!! GO GET IT!
