traditional bluegrass
i just listened to the oh brother where are thou soundtrack, and right now im looking to delve deeper into the bluegrass genre.
i want old men with guitars/banjos sitting on a porch singing about life or god or whatever they sing about. i want old acoustic songs. i love that stuff. what artists should i try listening to?

flatt & scruggs, earl & scruggs and the dillards are probably the most 'old school' bluegrass players, although I actually think the OBWAT is tons better than that.
It isn't bluegrass, but from your description of what you looking for I suggest First Recordings by R.L. Burnside. In fact, try going to the fat possom website if you like that stuff.

I'd suggest seeking out Tommy Jarell if you want to hear one of the best Bluegrass ("old-time") fiddlers out there.
I was exposed to bluegrass in big doses(I live in NC) when I was younger so I really have a difficult time listening to it now.
