For those who understand there can never be enough Monk in your collection, and as I have said before GET IT ALL!

http://www.monkzone.com/

Monk's family has released 5 recordings, 4 of which are doulbe cd releases. They were issued in 24 bit by Rudy Van Gelder. Normally, I am not a fan of what he does with the RVG series on Blue Note; however, on these he really did a good job. Several of these could only be found as bootlegs, with questionable sound. Just so you know, the TS Monk recording, Higher Ground is by Monk's son, and not Monk.

It's a song from the album 'Chriss cross' with Charlie Rouse (sax) John Ore (bass) and Frankie Dunlop (drums).
But I Think this is performed by Charlie Rouse (sax), Larry Gales (bass), en Ben Riley (drums).

Stardust and Equinox

You can find several Monk performances at the Monk site. There is even one, with Monk playing Chopin and showing he can play with the proper fingering, when he wants to.

It's finally up for pre-order, for those interested. The cover is just ugly as hell, but the music inside is magnificentt. Satchmo has heard it, and you will not be disappointed!!

Repeat after me:

I MUST Get It!
I MUST GET IT!
I MUST GET IT!
I MUST GET IT!
I MUST GET IT!

I MUST GET IT!

I MUST GET IT!
