muslims arent supposed to listen to metal either. my dad would want to hear bands first before taking me to concert. i could not fool him like that. if your dad really hated metal he would have made you leave concert. maybe he likes metal in secret.

My dad listens to the bands before he takes me to a concert, or let's me buy a cd. I played him a song from "Things Viral" and he didn't have any problem with it, but Things Viral is not really a metal album - it's alot more experimental rock than the self titled album.

My parents weren't always Jehovah's Witnesses, and one of my dad's brothers used to be really into metal, so my dad saw some punk and metal bands when he was younger. My mom too used to be into punk for awhile and went to punk clubs in the city. Maybe that has something to do with his tolerance for the show...You'd never think that my parents were into that music now though. All they listen to is smooth jazz now .

Dunno what the take on Meshuggah round here is but I like 'em (I like plenty of stuff many of you would consider crap though so that dosn't say much :P). I'm definetly going to see them on October 24th when they play the Croatian Culture Center in Vancouver!
