Now, except for a few of them on that list, Wynton Marsalis and his deaf fans, wouldn't call them Jazz musicans.

One of them even led to the firing of Wynton's shill, Stanley Crouch.

Yeah, seeing Peter Frampton in a Modern Jazz thread makes me...never want to post on Radiomute ever again for some reason.

Now, it could have been worse. He could have said Wynton Marsalis or Kenny G.

Anyway, anyone that even knows Oliver Nelson's masterpiece, The Blues and the Abstract Truth is allowed a lot more leeway by Satchmo. That it's one of mpittman and my favorite recordings, made it hard for Satchmo to get into full Satchmo mode.

After all, there is just so much in this thread, which I could have responded to and didn't.

If you're planning on joining Seba, wherever he has gone off to this time, say hello.

Life got busy for me, that's all. Happens to all of us. It's not any artistic problem I have with Radiomute.

It'll be back to normal soon...by Winter at least.

Mostly, I've been working on the $3,000 music tab I'm managed to accrue this year. I'm not gone, just consider me demoted to lurker status for a while. If I see something terribly interesting, I'll post.

I knew that you wouldn't be able to resist responding. You're as easy, as a porn star in the middle of a shoot.

A bit of combination of

Sherlock Satchmo

and

Then how about we start this thread over? Call it a general discussion about music with people that listen to jazz.

What's a good computer organization program for the collection? Something that will let me do a side man search, record labels, that kind of stuff. Any suggestions or programs to stay away from?
