The Shins I have heard and like them quite a bit. Decemberists are also great. The rest I haven't heard of, but might give them a listen. Simian sounds somehow familiar...what are they like?
To find new stuff I usually use (besides RM) allmusic.com and pandora.com. Pandora is great by the way, have you used it?

I do love the fact that there is so much good new music out there to explore. It's just a pity that the army takes so much of my time so I'm quite busy at the moment. Going back tonight btw.
