Neutral Milk Hotel are simply gorgeous, Jeff Mangum knows how to tickle me in all the right places.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Pavement yet, they are one of my three favourite bands ever. Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain and Wowee Zowee are both perfect albums.

And the Pixes are just fucking kickass. Doolitte is just genius.

Dumbest thing ever: people get offended that he says "I love you Jesus Christ." I mean seriously, it's a song, you don't have to agree with it to like it.

it's not that... I was just put off by his voice...

about the Christian thing, I don't believe myself, but I love Sufjan Stevens, Iron and Wine and some songs by Spain, and all of them have very religious songs...

1. Pain Funnel - these guys are so fucking independent that when i heard them i moved out of my parents house so i could be independent. "Love is Dead and Blind and Dead" is the album you want.
2. CyberChuck & The Internets - my band. we fuck the rocking planet down.
3. Crystal Lungflute Germs - clear the room for another great band on an independent label these guys can play more instruments than things i can ram into your mama.
4. Open Heart Surgery Twins - can you say "life affirming"? the first time i heard this music i had to run out in the woods with my headphones on and it playing ant yell at the top of my lungs, definitely check this shit outtuutututut
5. Radiohead- maybe they're not on an independent label, but nobody would be if it wasn't for these ugly british fuckers. " Collectionanthropolopolisology" is by far their best album, i cried when i heard it when i was 12 and discovered my bisexuality
