Albums that are better on vinyl
A few years ago I bought The Who's Tommy on CD thinking I'd be exposed to more sounds on a digitally remastered CD than an old vinyl record that was passed down to me from an uncle.
How wrong was I when I found myself grabbing at the old vinyl record to listen to the needle against the grooves. Although I like CDs, I can only spare my time for them when it comes to techno music and later Kraftwerk albums; both being suitable for the shiny plastic disc. But when it comes to Janis Joplin, the Band, the Doors, Velvet Underground, Deep Purple, Bowie, Pistols, etc; I find I have to tune into my old record player in order to hear their sounds.
Which albums would you prefer to hear on vinyl than on CD?

Back when I still had a turntable, just about anything was preferred on vinyl, progressive rock in particular. Led Zeppelin and Yes are two artists that come to mind in that regard.

Jethro Tull - Thick As A Brick.
It's one of my favorite albums ever, and more than anything else, it can't be really heard on cd.

How can vinyl be better than CD?.
What you people don't understand is that the original instruments used in music don't come with all the crap you find on Vinyl. They are pure and clear. When they are put on to records the stylus picks up all the rubbish from the vinyl. So they clean them all up again and put them on CD so you are hearing the sound as close to the original as possible. If you think some sound better on vinyl then you are saying that the original must have had something missing and that the vinyl has added the missing bit. What rubbish. CD is obviously better, anyone who say's it's not just does not appreciate quality sound. Music was'nt put on vinyl for the quality, it was put on because it was the best thing at the time. Now we have something better......CD.
