3/5 for me. i bought it a week ago and i'm already done with it. its not a bad album. its just that there is a shamelessness about it. its obviously trying to be this huge epic avalanche of bigness. this is music specifically designed to be played in stadia. there are good songs on the album but at some point , you're just like "can you do any more tricks??".

Was anyone else bitterly disappointed with this album? Can Coldplay do anything else, they're starting to feel like a one-trick-pony, whether that's down to pressure from the record company or whether they were just unarsed with doing anything new, or if they thought, "People liked the other albums, so let's do something essentially the same, and hope that the masses will buy it. It doesn't matter that we hate it, because the record company is gonna give us loadsa money"
Does this rant sound a tiny bit bitter? Sorry about that.
