Oh I don't think that's superficial at all...I love guitars but I don't love ugly guitars!! You gotta get what you want and often the look of it is a big factor. I don't have any that I don't like the look of.

as for those agiles on ebay it's all the stock from the rondomusic site listed aside from the top two. same price on both sites and no bidding. either way the main reason i want the one i chose is the finish (i know it's superficial but whatever i'm not a pro )

mind you if i happen to spot a $300 real deal les paul i might just forget about the finish hehehehe

If you're going to open the wallet and throw down X amount, you might as well have something that sounds and looks like you spent X amount.

It is of course, best to put X amount and get back XXX sound and look.

Which doesn't happen too often, yet you sometimes find a crazy situation that is to your advantage.

I just bought another guitar...I had already put the ol' kybosh on any more guitars for a while but then this one came up:

I had to have it as it was the last of my 'big three wanted' Kramers that I didn't have.
Ok...NOW the kybosh is on for new purchases!!!

i've never really been big on those 80s guitars but i've known more than a few guys who'd be pissing their pants at the prospect of getting kramers. might be the whole eddie van halen thing or something

I'm sure the Eddie thing has a lot to do with many of the people who want them...and the era has a lot to do with many of the people who don't want them...the fact is that if you try a properly set-up American Kramer from the 80's it is about as good as it gets.
The sounds from the H/S/S ones are almost limitless (I've had people mistake mine for a Tele and a Les Paul in recordings) and the feel is smooth as can be.
Anyway...I'm ok with many people 'not being into them' because that allows me to get them for $400 or so...and they kick the snot out of most stuff on the market today for 3 times that price brand new. I guess I hope people keep buying $1100 LTD's and PRS and the like...that'll allow me to get a few more (when the kybosh is lifted).

Hi, I'm a newbie...don't really have any "cool" instruments, but I do play piano, clarinet and oboe so I have those...

You suggest that any of those aren't cool (ESPECIALLY the piano)?

Good to see some variation around here.
