How someone plays the Mbira/Sansa/Marimba or otherwise known as a Thumb piano, is with their thumbs. Now, there are some cultures that also use two fingers, along with the two thumbs. However, it also depends on the design of the particular instrument in question. With the very basic design it's just the thumbs, and you pluck the keys. You usually find they have a 3 octave range. Although, they can have different pitch ranges.

i'm pretty sure a marimba isnt the same thing as a thumb piano... i think its a kalimba.

I have two basses: a Dean Edge 5-string and an Ibanez Ex404 4-string. I have an acoustic guitar that was given to me by someone who never played it and I broke 2 strings and wrecked the intonation trying to re-string it left-handed. I don't know the brand.

I also have 2 kazoos and a frog.
