Arrow Machine Music

I've been really into the music of Pierre Bastien lately, and I suppose his music could be lumped into the category of process-generated music, but really it's machine music, as his compositions are all performed by robots of his own design, resulting in music that is at once mechanical and very naturalistic and accessible, given the pattern-based nature of the performance medium. So, I'm just making this thread for others to post any other composers they are aware of that utilize this sort of approach of machine music, as it's something I find very interesting. If I stumble onto anyone else of interest, I'll post it here.

Well, that part doesn't matter, just as long as they're using machines for performance.

Thank God, I thought this was going to be a Lou Reed thread.

Not quite, even though I'm sure the Velvets were brought up in this forum at least once.

Felt the need to add the late Joe Jones to this thread. He was an important Fluxus artist who started developing music machines in the 1960s. I don't have much by him yet, but find his work very intriguing, and would recommend others to check him out, if they haven't.

Some info:

And an interview:
