man, i started with a fender p-bass and loved it i baught a fnder jazz bass and loved it more so fender there. As for guitar, neither ibanez is the way to go, i like fenders alot but i jsut liek the feel of the ibanez rg and s series guitars alot more. As for gibsons, there a bunch of overpirced Crap

personal preference Can be anything I guess...I bet there are some people out there who like the feel of a neck in need of a truss rod adjustment...

I love Fender basses, but nothing growls like a Gibson.

gibsons thoguh seriosly where is all that price tag coming from, there clunky adn and i jsut dont really liek them. To each there own guitar, as for me though either an ibanez s470, a fender stratocaster, or a fender jaguar.

My Gibby isn't clunky...I have run into a few but they may have been that way due to misuse or improper set-up...my Gibson was $1395.00 Canadian currency...that isn't really steep for a high end instrument. Oh...did I mention the SHWEET tone and the ubersustain that it has? 'Nuff said.
BTW...I have a Kramer Pacer that absolutely kicks runny snot out of any Fender Strat I've ever seen/heard...but I am not going to say that Strats suck...even though most of the time a single coil in the bridge position DOES...
