i'm all for female vocals but that first list hurts my brain. hell i have a hard time coming up with top 10 lists. the only way i could make a list that long is to catalog everything i own.

as for my favorite albums with female vocals (not necessarily classics but whatever)

luscious jackon - natural ingredients
poe - haunted
esthero - breath from another
pj harvey - to bring you my love
sheryl crow - the globe sessions
the cardigans - first band on the moon
koop - waltz for koop

shes always been a pop singer.

Gwen Stefani's new solo material is certainly god-awful, but a lot of her work with No Doubt was good pop music- the singles at least.

speaking of stefani/no doubt i quite like the tragic kingdom album with the exception of 'don't speak'. i listened to it the other day for the first time in years and it's still good. although i was never able to get into their other stuff.

don't speak is really a amazing single
I bought "tragic kingdom" only for this song, but the rest of songs are just OK

from RockSteady , no doubt become a pop band, so popular and I do not like their change~

I seriously can't believe no one has mentioned the Pretenders yet. Chrissy Hynes(sp) is an excellent female vocalist.

So I suggest either:

The Pretenders ~ Learning to Crawl
The Pretenders ~ II
