Sneaker Pimps!!!
I know I metioned the new release of "Sneaker Pimps" and "Massive Attack". But I'm here to say....wow to Sneaker Pimps! After listenning to both releases a few times I realized that Massive Attack flopped out! Yes dudes, it is bland! But since I'm such a MA fan I got excited....The Sneaker Pimps put that fire out!
Has anyone here listenned to the New Sneaker Pimps? It's so damned good! It's thier best in my view! Give it a shake, it grows on ya, before you know it you're humming it all day. The lyrics are genius and relative to life.....
for lyrics http://www.letssingit.com/
I give it a strong 9/10
Whatta ya say?

Sounds like it would be a really good CD. I might have to get it!
What does it sound like? I mean, is it like their older songs? What's the overall feel of the album?
Cheers,
Qwerty.

The sound remains "TripHop"! It's still dark, and dizzy. But what I love the most is that they lost the chic vocalist and now Chris Corner sings.....astonishingly well! He has a very unique way of pronoucing his words, take "Loretta Young Silks" for example. The lyrics are also well written, and fashionable to UK styles.
Got answers for everyone, endless excuses
Not habit for anyone, cos I'm trying to break your click-track heart
Seen a vision of perfect grace, airbrushed and lifeless
All contact and aftertaste it's like I'm waiting for the scars to heal
You sell loretta young silks, fashioning yourself as gay
You sell loretta young silks, trading on your super wave
All style before content, using me as bait
You sell loretta young silks, swapping your love for hate
Soft focus for full appeal, pictured as flawless
No context for self esteem, was that be pushed to give your love on that
As far as the eye can see : too much perfection
Pure substance for wannabes, keeps you beating to a click-track heart
You sell loretta young silks, fashioning yourself as gay
You sell loretta young silks, trading on your super wave
All style before content, using me as bait
You sell loretta young silks, swapping your love for hate

Then there's the acoustic songs that incorporate a cool smoothe beat and a nice fretless bass groove like "Sick". If you want dark, and warped bass then give "Fuel" a spin.
Chris is one of the 2 founding members and you'll ask yourself why he wasn't the front man all along.
How's that Qwerty?

From what I've gathered by reading up on bio's and what not, some songs are old but never released. I also gather that they have a few more on hand. If you go to thier site they have a kind of diary and they mention songs that aren't released.
It's like me, I have so many "in process" songs that I've started years ago but never mastered.
Like " Loretta young Silks" it was writtn 2 years ago but never released.
There ya go,

They must of released a few tracks as singles or something... Who knows, but it sounds like a pretty good CD. Sick was played a fair bit last year and they (The radio station) said it was from their album, Bloodsport. I don't know what was going on!
Anyway, thanks for the reccomendation, effectivnow.

Hey,
You are right, the Bloddsport album is amazing and great [might be the best album I have ever listened to and of course did relegate Massive Attack to shoes box]
but but but
This album has been released a long time ago and was already available end of 2001 on the web. The official release was about April 2002 ...
The band is now playing live and presenting new songs, which are supposed to be part of their new album. Quoting them, from their web site http://www.sneakerpimps.com : the new album is ready and they will be playing songs live this spring !
I can't wait ... I will attend their show in Luxembourg next Friday!
Cheers,
Chris.
