I'm surprised they aren't releasing that, actually. We have faux-jazz diva Norah Jones selling albums right now, unless she's become past tense already. The Fiona Apple tune could be Top 40's version of a "crossover" hit.
The timing would seem, to me anyway, to be quite good for something lke this. The suits try to carefully time the artists they feature so that the lowest common denominator feels as if what they are hearing is a refreshing change. I tend to do something very similar with my own collection, often ignoring some styles and genres for a short while and coming back to them a while later. The contrast often makes my listening experience more enjoyable.

Well... I downloaded the tracks off Extraodrinary Machine off p2p and while most songs are overproduced to the extent of my disliking them outright it does have one really good song in 'ed Red Red'.

I'll admit to owning her album but I've barely listened to it. The only tracks that ever caught my attention were "Sleep To Dream" and "Criminal".
