New NIN

I know NIN isn't metal, but the rock threads are overpolluted with garbage... so I'm posting it here.

I got the album from my buddy who was able to find a leak. So far I listened to the first two songs right before I got to work and the intro is pretty cool, but the next one was kinda mediocre.

I'm not a huge NIN fan, but I like how they tweek the industrial rock sound to fit thier personalities... It's always interesting.. even when its not that good.

I'll write up a review later this week when I get a chance to listen to the album in its entireity.

The album name is : WITH TEETH if you wanna search it for yourself.

i allways been a huge NIN fan,
i listened the last album, i need to listen it more carefully, but so long i think some songs are pretty good, (like the hands that feeds), but some other songs are not that cool, or just are more of the same.
anyway i still love the sounds they make, and the feelings that produce on me.
i just feel this time they didn't surprise me too much, not like with the previous album the fragile, that one realy touched me.not this one (at least yet)

Have seen the new video on TV a few times recently. Didn't think much of it. It's like Trent has gone all trendy and metrosexual, and the music doesn't have the same integrity.

Nothing's really stuck with me, although I still don't care much for "The Hand That Feeds". When I first heard it I hated it, so that's an improvement of sorts. I only get 3 channels on my TV, so I didn't know there was a video out, but that was actually my least favorite song on the first couple of run-throughs...still is, actually.

This really doesn't hit me the way Broken and The Downward Spiral did. I hate to say it, but this is probably the best he's ever going to be from this point foward. Angel of Death has a nice point about the music not quite packing the big punch it did in 1994. It's lacking something, and "integrity" does come to mind. It just seems like he is going through the motions in so much of the material. Electronic music tends to date itself as a rule. This albums best moments recall his first couple of albums, rather than point to any sort of new set of ideas or new direction. That is NOT a good thing, and except perhaps from a sales standpoint, never will be.

I think back to Chris Vrenna's excellent work in the Alice video game. That soundtrack has far surpassed NIN's post-Spiral work by light years. I was hoping to see Trent Reznor offer some new wrinkle.
