I'm not referring to influences. I am referring to virtual plagarism. There is a difference between showing influences (blatantly or subtley) and recreating them. I don't have a problem with any one band that is influenced by the 80's Cure and a couple other bands from the same period, per se. The Bravery are essentially Retro-In-A-Box. Of course, I see the other four bands as being the same - Franz Ferdinand (who I tipped my cap to for their chutzpah) heading the list.
Again, I picked the Killers because I happen to like more of the songs I've heard from them than the other bands. There's no real need to dig any further when discussing this month's listening choices for those who still listen to the radio. I am a bit surprised they are winning myself though. I had thought the Arcade Fire was going to be a more popular choice.
