romeo and juliet

for school i need to make a soundtrack for all acts of Romeo and Juliet. I was thinking if someone was well educated in literature and music they could help me here. or just list a few ideas. it can be any genre but dont wander away from rock because i probably wouldnt include anything else. so far i've thought of 'don't fear the reaper' -blue oyster cult. help if you can, thanks

Swans, "Blind Love"
Dire Straits, "Romeo & Juliet" (I thought at least that they had a song like this...)
Tom Waits, "Blind Love", "Romeo Is Bleeding"
Sisters of Mercy, "Marian"

might think of more, but I'm hungry

Well I'm not a literary expert, but if you're looking something with atmosphere I'd recommend

Leonard Cohen - Hey, that's no way to say goodbye
Leonard Cohen - Who by fire
Bob Dylan - Knockin' on heaven's door
Pink Floyd - Wish you were here
Moody blues - Nights in white satin
U2 - One
Beatles - Something

If you want something that's less distracting, maybe you could use these intrumentals:

Eric Clapton - Classical gas
Black Sabbath - Orchid / Fluff
Alan Parsons Project - Fall of the house of Usher IV: Pavane
Led Zeppelin - Bron Yr aur / Black mountain side
Jefferson airplane - Embryonic journey
Tony Joe White - Gabriella

These songs don't actually have a mention of Romeo and/or Juliet in them, I hope that's no prerequisite. Good luck with the project

Diamanda Galas - "Swing Low Sweet Chariot".

But seriously,
Swans - "Love Will Tear Us Apart" (Joy Division Cover)

You look wonderful tonight - Eric Clapton would be a good one for the romantic scenes, or I Would do anything for Love-Meatloaf or even Look into my eyes-Bryan Adams..

Obviously you have Dire Straits-Romeo and Juliet for the overall theme tune..

There is also knocking on heavens door (Dylan)..

the best one for it IMO is Queens- too much love will kill you every single time..Very ironic!!
