you can't seriously believe that.

JPJ was the most musically inclined of the entire group. he shows off some superb bass/mandolin/keyboard skills. he also arranged all of the strings that zeppelin ever used. he put together string arrangements outside of the group as well, uncluding some work with the Stones.

i can dig it. his drumming is perfect for every beatles song. abbey road contains his best tracks, imo.

it could be argued that a different drummer could have contributed more material to the group, but that being said, it's difficult to top the beatles' catalogue as is. a different drummer could have skewed the entire unfolding of their music.

Alright, maybe. That is why I said I may be wrong. I didnt know very much about him. Just when I think about Led Zeppelin, he is definitely just the other guy.

mc cool, just listen to 'how the west was won' and you'll hear it

chris, if we just consider the musical aspect of this and not the personal then he was a lucky guy. alot of people have gone under because of their careers in music, thats just not something i want to consider in THIS thread.

I think Adam Clayton of U2 is pretty lucky. Also, any bass player or drummer AC/DC ever had. Talk about a gravy train!

The Lemon Song also has one of the best, if not THE best, walking bass line in rock 'n' roll.
