Also maybe I'm wrong about this, but I think John-Paul Jones got pretty lucky as well. I guess he wasnt bad, but nothing special.

I was gonna say Fred Durst....and I will: Fred Durst must be pretty rich relative to the quality of the music he made.

The luckiest man in the music business? Dick James, who got the publishing on all Lennon & McCartney's songs for NOTHING.

No, thats not true. He was a decent drummer. But for someone in a rock band, he was nothing special.

Ringo isnt a horrible drummer, he does the job. But hes nothing spectacular. Not even close.

Yes, anyone could have replaced him, but would the Beatles have been the same? Part of the Beatles aura was their charm. The four of them were a perfect match-they fed off each other and the media phenomenally. Ringo was very lucky, but it worked out well for
The Beatles too.

Well you say "decent" and I (and George Martin)say "very good." He devised and carried out some very tasty, tricky and understated lines..."Ticket to Ride", "Rain" and "A Day In the Life" being three examples.
