please note that i consider them to be my favorite rock group, and while every record they produced is near & dear to me, i believe that Fugazi particularly came in with, and went out with a bang. their first album (13 songs, [which is technically the merging of two mini albums the year before.]) is on the highest end of any post-hardcore you'll hear, whereas their last album (The Argument) is a haunting, melodious beauty. i couldn't possibly choose between these two.

I got 13 songs when I was like 12 and really had no idea what to think of it. It was just a little bit too hard of a listen for me. I started getting into hardcore, emo and post-hardcore a few years later and I dug up that album and it was the most amazing thing I'd ever experienced. I really the only other Ian MacKaye band worth the time is Embrace.
